Tire and auto-repair shops busy fixing pothole damage (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

There’s nothing like a pothole to destroy a perfectly good tire. Tire and auto-repair shops say they will be busy into spring dealing with problems caused by cars hitting holes. “Some of the holes are horrendous. You feel like you’re going to lose the car in the hole,“ said Dave Axselle, owner of a car-repair shop in Henrico County.

Brothers arrested in home repair scam (Mobile Press-Register)

FOLEY–Sheriff’s officials arrested a pair of brothers on charges on home repair fraud after a concerned citizen spotted the men and called deputies. Adam Burton and Keith Burton, both of Athens, Ala., were arrested Tuesday evening. Each faces two counts of home repair fraud.

Authorities warn of home-repair scammers (The Selma Times-Journal)

Alabama Attorney General Troy King sent out a warning Thursday to be aware of traveling home repair workers who solicit business door-to-door. This concern was echoed by Dallas County Chief Deputy Randy Pugh.
